We Want Freedom!

A song composed and sung by the Indian People's Human Rights Tribunal.

To those who think cruelty is brave, I say it cannot be.
You and I must not allow our neighbours' homes to be attacked.
Whatever their religion, they are our neighbours.
We live together in this country.
My sisters, listen!
Wherever there is a riot, we women must stand against it!
If the lower castes, Muslims, aboriginal peoples, the oppressed
were all united together, we would outnumber them!
Brothers and sisters, I'll end with this call.
All women with one slogan -
Humanity is our religion!
Indian women say no! Rivers of blood won't flow!
Indian children say no! No one's blood need flow!
We want freedom! Freedom from rape,
Freedom from religious hatred, freedom from atrocities!
Freedom from sexual harassment, freedom from the police!
Freedom - we want Freedom!
