Zulia Governor Manuela Rosales will eliminate sales tax on basic foodstuffs

Manuela Rosales (governor of Zulia state), has been saying that he will eliminate sales tax (IVA) on basic foodstuffs and that the SENIAT (Venezuela’s equivalent to the IRS in the USA) is an organization that is made up of thugs who coerce and threaten people into paying their due taxes … and that the sales tax, IVA, is the highest in Latin America and in the world (which is completely false, according to research done by the SENIAT). As a side note at this point: if people really believe that there is no freedom of expression in Venezuela, why is it that this Rosales character goes on overtly lying, in public, about the truth? Well … here it goes: Rosales wants to eliminate the IVA on basic foodstuffs? There is no IVA on all basic foodstuffs in Venezuela, unless it is imported (which is non-basic foodstuff). - Oscar Heck

Who would want a liar and/or ignorant person to run their government? And … I am not talking about the US government!

Manuel Rosales, Chavez’ main (and only real) opponent for Venezuela’s upcoming December 3 presidential elections has been openly lying about issues, using these lies to conjure support for his candidacy.

But, there is something seriously wrong with these lies ... and it is more than laughable.

How come he doesn’t know this? Isn’t he a Venezuelan? Isn’t he running against Chavez for the presidency? He doesn’t know that there is no IVA on basic foodstuff?

This goes to show the caliber of opposition (opposition to Chavez) presidential candidates. They don’t even know that there is no IVA on basic foodstuffs in their own country! Where has he been all this time as governor of the state of Zulia? In Miami? Oh … I forgot, he, probably, like most anti-Chavez mid-to-upper class Venezuelans, has maids that go shop for him.

In consequence, the SENIAT has deposited a legal deposition against Rosales to ask the courts to bring down a judgment against him ordering him to stop saying anything against the SENIAT unless it is true.

What kind of Venezuelan would vote for a presidential candidate who has no idea that there, in his own country, there is no IVA on basic foodstuff?

You can go through the 35 page IVA law (May 2006) … and see for yourself (particularly article 18)
You can see for yourself the SENIAT announcing their court deposition against Rosales

This is incredible … and it only adds to the evidence that the vile, lying, anti-Chavez opposition is comprised mostly of ignorants.

Imagine if Rosales were to run the country? Huh!
